Helen (Kaiser) Weigel, a member of St. Stephen Parish in Southeast Portland, died Tuesday, May 6 in Portland. She was 88.
Mrs. Weigel was born Oct. 1, 1919 in Grafton, ND, and moved to Portland sometime around 1941, where she worked in the shipyards during World War II and then as a seamstress for Jantzen. In 1949 she married Jacob Weigel and since worked as a homemaker. He died in 1994.
Survivors include son Ray Kaiser; daughters Suzanne Wabschall and Marsha Weakland; sisters Florence Watkins, Annie Hrbacek and Rosella Snearley; bothers Jack Kaiser, Wallace Kaiser and Swain Kaiser; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A rosary and funeral Mass were held Friday, May 9 at St. Stephen. Remembrances may be made to St. Stephen.
