Joseph Castellano, a member of St. Therese Parish, died Thursday, April 10. He was 95.
Mr. Castellano was born Oct. 17, 1912 in the southern Italian town of Casamassima and in 1935 married Caterina Fiermonte, who died in 1998.
He lived in the Portland area since 1954 and worked as a switchman for Union Pacific. Before moving to the United States at age 42, the family grew olives and almonds on a farm.
Daughter Lucia Errico preceded Mr. Castellano in death. Survivors include sons Stefano Castellano and Sabino Castellano; daughters Anna Wilson and Angela Coppola; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
