Elizabeth Ann (Stephan) Wehrly, a former member of St. Thomas More and St. John Fisher parishes, both in southwest Portland, died of natural causes Thursday, April 8 in Portland. She was 94.
Wehrly was born Feb. 25, 1914 in Devils Lake, N.D., and was raised and educated both in North Dakota and Montana. In 1940, she married William Wehrly, who died in 2003. She worked as a homemaker.
Survivors include daughter Jean Eakins; sons William Wehrly, Stephen Wehrly, Mark Wehrly and John Wehrly; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Remembrances may be made to St. John Fisher Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. John Fisher.
