Regarding Roe v. Wade coverage

To the Sentinel:
If the media repeat a slogan over and over, the public will eventually agree and accept it. That certainly is the pattern followed by the Eugene Register-Guard editors. In a newspaper article printed Jan. 22, they once again stated that Oregon continued to be a national leader in the protection of the reproductive choice for women. As we are well aware, Oregonians over the years have continually voted to defend the “right to choose.”
However, since Jan. 22, 1973 (Roe v. Wade decision), abortion rates have rapidly declined. More individuals now are realizing that a fetus is indeed a developing human baby.
Anyone reading this was once a fetus, thus proving the development of human life. What the Register-Guard editors fail to accept is that life begins with conception.
The abortion slogan “Protect the right to choose” must be changed to read, “Protect the right to LOVE,” or more unborn will be sentenced to death.
